Chemical Analysis of Metals

ARL 3460 Optical Emission Spectrometer

Chemical analysis of metal alloys performed using an ARL 3460 vacuum Optical Emission Spectrometer (OES).  This system is capable of testing several base alloys and is equip with 36 elemental channels.

Metal powders, chips, wire and sub-size samples are analyzed by preparing them with our remelt button furnace.  This procedure enables us to analyze non-standard size samples spectrographically.

  • Carbon Steel Alloys

  • Stainless Steel Alloys

  • Tool Steel Alloys

  • Aluminum Alloys

  • Cast Iron Alloys

  • Copper Alloys

  • Nickel Alloys and Super Alloys

  • Titanium Alloys

Positive Material Identification of Metals

Chemical analysis of metal alloys performed using an Oxford MET8000 Expert will give you fast results on any metal alloy.  This state of the art instrument is capable of analyzing samples quickly and identifying them to their closest match. This analyzer is going to give you fast results without compromising the tested surface.

This system is capable of testing several base alloys.

  • Stainless Steel Alloys

  • Tool Steel Alloys

  • Aluminum Alloys

  • Copper Alloys

  • Nickel Alloys and Super Alloys

  • Titanium Alloys

  • Magnesium Alloys

  • Lead/Tin/Silver solders

  •  Zinc Alloys

The MET8000 can measure directly on Metal powders, chips, wire and sub-size samples that often times need additional preparation with other techniques .
